We have a number of searchable databases on this website as listed below.

Members of the Society can access all of the databases using their password where necessary. Any member having problems accessing the 'Members Area' should contact either the Membership Secretary or Webmaster.

Non-members can only access the index pages and the 'Open to all' databases identified. Details of membership and application forms are on the 'Become a member' page.

The 'Quick Search' on the home page will show the number of records for a family name in some of the database tables.

1939 Absent Voters List   Search   This transcription gives the lists of the Absent Voters registered in the Electoral Rolls of 1939. This in effect shows all the people eligible to vote who were not in residence on the qualifying date, and this represents (apart from a couple of exceptions) all those members of the uniformed services on active duty away from home. Many of those listed died during WW II, so this is a good source of information about servicemen and women at the time.

Indexes to Patient Records from the Royal National Hospital for Diseases of the Chest, Ventnor   Search   These index records are taken from the patients' medical records of the Royal National Hospital for Diseases of the Chest, Ventnor, and for the most part give details of patients who were sent to Ventnor from other parts of Great Britain. [Work in progress from 2017 - not yet completed]

Source : extracted from the manuscript Record Books created by the Royal National Hospital for Diseases of the Chest. The records commence in 1869. These are held by the Isle of Wight County Record Office, and contain personal information subject to closure rules where information is less than 100 years old.
