Search the Isle of Wight Parish Registers Burials Index

Please enter either a Surname (and optionally Forename(s)). You can use % characters as wildcards within the name. Do not use * as a wildcard.

If you do not check either the Exact or the Soundex option, surnames beginning with the entered name will be returned. If you use the Exact or Soundex option, please enter a full Surname.

The Isle of Wight Family History Society has created this index from transcriptions made by volunteers from copies of just one of the Island Parish Registers ... namely, All Saints' Church, Freshwater.
So, if you cannot find the burials recorded for a family as you might expect to, please consider this limitation as a possible reason.
It may also seem as if this duplicates the entries taken from the Record Office Burial cards, but in fact, there are some 600 additional entries in this table, so it is worth cross checking, but with the caveat that all transcriptions are subject to error and should be verified if possible from the original Registers.

The majority of surviving original Registers are held by the County Record Office in Newport, Isle of Wight. To see a list of their holdings see Parish Records and Registers.
