The fortification of Culver Down

About this Event

Tim Wander has researched extensively the fortifications on Culver Down, from Victorian times (the Palmerston Forts) through WW I and WW II to the post war use of the area by the military. There is plenty of evidence still "on the ground" but the area round about the downs and the nearby installations at Yaverland and Sandown is a fascinating area for studying the military presence on the Island.

This will be a Zoom presentation and is a taster for the Summer Outing in June when Tim hopes to escort a group around the area.

Please contact us to get the Zoom invite using the Ticketing option (include your e-mail in the Address field) or the Chairman, Geoff Allan using the Chairman's email address

Zoom Invites will be sent by e-mail the weekend before the presentation.
