The Voluntary Aid Detachment and Island VAD Hospitals

Many hundreds of women (and men) served with the Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) in WW I at the eight hositals established on the Island. These treated wounded soldiers returned from the front.

Hazel will give an outline of the work, the people and the hospitals in this talk, based on the extensive research carried out by our volunteers inthe last few years.
