The society is for all those who want to trace their ancestors. Members include people who live on the Isle of Wight but whose families came from elsewhere as well as those with island ancestry who may live on the mainland or abroad.
Whether you are a longstanding member of the Society or just browsing we hope that you will find something to interest you on our pages.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS

All Members who have paid their 2008 subscriptions will have received the February and May journals by now; if you have not received these, then perhaps it is because your subscription is still outstanding? Please respond to Jon at the e-mail link given below. Thanks to all those Members who have renewed their subscriptions.

CLOSURE OF THE FAMILY RECORDS CENTRE IN LONDON

Many of you will know that the FRC has now closed and the records held there have been transferred to the National Archives at Kew. The Superintendant Registrar has advised us that alternative viewing facilities for some of the records are to be made available in some cities. For more details see Latest News
