The Centre is in St Thomas Square, Newport. As it is only open to members and not the public there is no notice to show where it is. You will find it by looking for a pair of white doors at one side of the pasty shop. Although not open, these doors will not be locked during the times that the rooms are open and you can go through them to an alleyway. You will find our Resource Centre on the left hand side of the alleyway.

As many of our Isle of Wight Members have ancestors in other parts of the country, we not only have Isle of Wight records available but many records from around the UK. So come and check what we have. The library, bookshop and journals exchanged with other family history societies are on the ground floor, the fiche readers and all but one of the computers are upstairs.

Owing to lack of use the rooms are now only open on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12.30 pm.

We will try to open the rooms by request, particularly for visitors from the mainland and overseas. If you wish to take advantage of this phone Mrs Betty Dhillon at 01983 524469 (an email address will be in use later).,
