This set of cards comes from Liz Manning, and was given to her by the wife of one of the Long family of Ryde. The cards probably originally belonged to Bessie Long (née Paxton), born in Stoke Poges in 1890, who died in 1975. Most of the cards are 'anonymous' but we have identified a few of the subjects including Bessie's brother William Paxton, who features as a farrier, and who served in the Royal Field Artillery in WW I.

The cards are 'on loan' to us since July 2017, and Liz Manning would be happy for them to go to a member of the Long / Paxton families who wishes to claim them.
