In order to perpetuate Di Harding's name the Di Harding Awards are given annually to the authors of the best articles submitted by members
and published in the Society's Journal.
The Awards are given based an articles appearing in the four Journals in a calendar year. 2009 was the first year of the award, Di having passed away in December 2008. (see Obituary). The Awards will consist of three prizes of £50, £25, and £10, plus a subscription to Society membership for the following year. The 2009 Awards were judged by the then Committee; in subsequent years, the Award winners will be invited to judge the following year's entries. If for any reason a previous winner cannot take part in the judging, the Committee en bloc will stand in for that winner. The Awards are announced in December of the qualifying year. As a former Editor of the Journal, we hope that Di Harding (1950 - 2008) would have approved of this initiative to perpetuate her name. |
