Our Resource Centre, where our research materials are stored,
has been set up and equipped by some dedicated members of the
committee. Members of the Isle of Wight Family History Society
are able to work there on their research, using this material
and have the help of friendly staff if help is needed. Although
the Centre is for members only it will be possible to obtain a
temporary one-day membership to do research for £1.50.

As many of our Isle of Wight Members have ancestors in other
parts of the country, we not only have Isle of Wight records
available but many records from around the UK. So come and check
what we have. The library, bookshop and journals exchanged with
other family history societies are on the ground floor, the fiche
readers and all but one of the computers are upstairs.
The Society has now installed a wireless internet facility. One PC is therefore available to access the internet.
Members with wireless-enabled laptops will also be able to use this facility.
Owing to lack of use the Resource Centre is now only open on Saturday
mornings from 10 am to 12.30 pm.
We will try to open the Resource Centre by request, particularly
for visitors from the mainland and overseas. If you wish to take
advantage of this phone Mrs Betty Dhillon at 01983 524469 (an
email address will be in use later).

Exchange Journals
As a member of the Federation of Family History Societies, we exchange Journals with a number of UK and foreign Societies. Generally these are kept for 2 years, as space
prohibits us keeping all the back copies. If you are interested in reading Journals from other areas, please contact Mrs Betty Dhillon at 01983 524469. Copies of older Journals may also be bought for a small fee.
