December 2011 : IWFHS Journals 1 - 100 now available on CD-ROM We have prepared a complete set of our Journals 1 - 100 as searchable PDF files. The CD-ROM also includes comprehensive Indexes. They are available on CD-ROM at a price of £15 plus postage & packing. This is a great opportunity to revisit the many articles and research topics prepared by our members in the first 25 years of the Society. The CD-ROM can be purchased online from the Parish Chest or by post from Mrs Hazel Pullen, IWFHS Librarian, whose address appears in the IWFHS Journal (back page); please make cheques payable to IWFHS. October 2010 : Updates to CDs from Heritage Digital Archives Heritage Digital Archives continues to add to the series of CD-ROMs of Isle of Wight indexes, and these can be obtained from www.parishchest.com/en-gb/dept_424.html under the Heritage Digital Archives section. CDR54 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1920) CDR61 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1921) CDR62 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Autumn 1921) CDR63 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1922) CDR64 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Autumn 1922) CDR55 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1925) CDR57 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1929) CDR56 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1933) CDR59 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1938) CDR58 The Electoral Roll for the Isle of Wight (Spring 1947) all published with the permission of The Isle of Wight Record Office. These are searchable Indexes to, and scanned copies of, the Electoral Rolls compiled in these years for all the Parliamentary and Local Registration Districts of the Isle of Wight. As such it represents a simple way of finding your ancestors in these years. Women over 30 were allowed to vote from 1920, and those over 21 from 1928, and therefore their names also appear, together with any adult children also entitled to vote. The IW Record Office and the IWFHS Resource Centre also have copies of the CDs for reference purposes. Heritage Digital Archives has permission to continue the scanning process for later Electoral Rolls, and these will be issued in due course. The price for each of these is GBP10.00 (P&P extra). Note the CDR reference number carefully as the CDs are listed chronologically, not by the CDR number.
